When to Use Toothpaste and Mouthwash

Posted April 10, 2017.

Do you ever wonder if there’s anything else you can do to protect your oral health? If so, you probably know that brushing and flossing your pearly whites should be an important part of caring for your oral health. You might have also heard that using mouthwash as part of your oral care routine is important. However, did you know that choosing the right toothbrush or mouthwash is also important?

Knowing how to choose the perfect toothbrush is important because you should be replacing your brush every few months because your toothbrush will actually harbor bad germs and bacteria. When you choose a new toothbrush, you should remember to choose one with soft bristles. Sadly, a hard brush could actually hurt your pearly whites and your gums. You should also remember to choose a brush that you can maneuver around your mouth easily.

Furthermore, there are a number of different mouthwashes that could be useful. For instance, you could benefit from a mouthwash with fluoride in it, because fluoride will strengthen your teeth. However, you shouldn’t give this type of mouthwash to your children because it shouldn’t be swallowed. You might also be able to use a mouthwash with alcohol in it, but this may not be a good option for individuals who have sensitive teeth. In reality, we recommend contacting us if you’re interested in learning more about the perfect mouthwash for you.
